Sharon Hendrix has performed for kings, queens, presidents and fans all across the globe on the world's most famous stages. Sharon Hendrix began her career as "Muffy" Hendrix. She's sung background vocals for Bob Dylan, Natalie Cole, Olivia Newton-John, Barry Manilow and Harry Chapin. She has recorded chart-topping duets with Billy Preston and Barry Manilow ("Ain't Nothin' Like The Real Thing"). Among Sharon's early recordings are songs written exclusively for her by Michael Sembello, Jeffrey Osbourne and Don Freeman. Sharon's music debut came at the age of 2, when she stood up on the church pew and began singing along with the choir so loudly that everyone in church turned to look at her and applauded enthusiastically when she finished – she's been hooked on music ever since that Easter Sunday. She continued to sing in church and school and at seventeen she auditioned for The Young Americans, an international touring company of 30 singers from all over the country. Over the next two years Sharon toured the Far East twice, performed on the Ed Sullivan Show and the Kraft Music Hall. She did various television specials and commercials, and learned the entertainment business from the best of the best. Sharon earned a music scholarship to Chapman University at the same time she began receiving calls to perform with legendary film stars Mitzi Gaynor, Debbie Reynolds, and Sammy Davis, Jr. In 1976 Sharon sang on Olivia Newton-John's world tour and upon her return to the US she began singing for more contemporary rock, jazz and pop artists such as Bob Dylan, George Duke, Harry Chapin, Dusty Springfield, Billy Cobham, Freddie Hubbard, Mac Davis, Susan Anton, and Suzanne Somers. In 1978 Sharon replaced one of the singers in Lady Flash, the female trio who sang backup with Barry Manilow. This was the beginning of a lifetime friendship and working relationship with the beloved superstar. Over the next eight years Sharon toured with Manilow singing and dancing on the world's most renowned stages. In 1985 she recorded the duet, "Ain't Nothin Like the Real Thing" with Barry on his popular "Manilow" album. All total throughout her career, Sharon has performed in over 8,000 shows. Sharon stopped touring for the next few years, returned to her southern California home, got married, had twins and concentrated on studio work and solo club gigs. In 1991, a friend gave her name to Tom Jones" musical director, who was looking for a female singer. Sharon was hired and over the next eighteen years performed with Tom all over the world. In between tours Sharon worked for Natalie Cole, and performed with Elton John and Shirley Bassey. In 2010 Sharon was overjoyed when she reunited with Barry Manilow to sing in his new show at The Paris Hotel in Las Vegas. More recently, Sharon had a great time touring with Barry on his worldwide "One Last Time!" farewell tour throughout 2015. Sharon has returned to the studio and is completing tracks for her debut solo album.
