Urb Scrunting's innovative, quirky and thought provoking debut album draws from contemporary folk and reggae influences to create a colourful, light hearted and surreal musical reflection on growing up as a young man in the heart of London. Influences include Joni Mitchell, Bob Dylan and Richard Thompson whilst several reviews have also highlighted similarities with Jake Thackeray. Environmental and social themes such as The Slow Living movement, global action against climate change, work / life balance, spiritualism, depression and suicide are woven into the musical fabric. The album's style could be best described as anti folk but a flurry of Reggae can be sampled in the opening track "Curry Store Danni." The album was written over a period of several years and reflects on such experiences as working in a busy Sainsburys supermarket, riding the top deck of a bus along Chelsea's King's Road, meeting a girl in a curry house and visiting a sick friend in Tooting General Hospital.
