This was a very cool project! TH is a brilliant songwriter and singer who I met in Woodstock a number of years ago. He recently contacted me to see if I would be interested in producing a new CD for him. He brought to the table some great songs, and a great vibe. He’s been there, done that, etc. – and wanted to make a musician’s road warrior record – and that we did! We decided on a compact record of six songs that will take you on a wonderful journey into his world. It was a blast bringing on board some great friends (and a couple of new ones) who are tremendous players. I dug being a musical matchmaker, pairing up internationally renowned flamenco guitarist Maria Zemanturski and her percussionist Maria Perez paired with Tom Waits’ crazed hornman Ralph Carney; Asleep At The Wheel & Bob Dylan’s slide guitar virtuoso Cindy Cashdollar with harp maniac Mike Smith; Ruff & ready blues guitar ace Beki Brindle with the incredible soulful voice and down home fiddle of Dorraine Scofield along with accordion squeezer Neil Eisenberg and keyboardist for Simon & Garfunkel, Madonna, Bowie – Robert Sabino! As with everything coming out of my studio, it was brilliantly mastered by Emily Lazar & Joe LaPorta at The Lodge in NYC – with coordination there by the wonderful Heba Kadry.
