Band Of Susan’s acclaimed EP Now featured two version of the Rolling Stones’ “Paint It Black (arranged by Susan Stenger, with Robert Poss in the Brian Jones role), the slashing instrumental “Trash Train,” a satanic majestic remix of “Now Is Now,” and two early version of songs that would appear on their subsequent Veil CD. The N.M.E. said that B.O.S. was "reaching further out, moulding precise three-pronged guitar raids into grand sculptures." Creem Magazine described it this way: “What truly distinguishes BOS is a talent for building their music around small but durable melodic or chordal units, which gives them a monolithic power matched by few,” while another publication noted that “The Band Of Susans has inspired accolades. The truth is the band plays a complex, multi-textured melange of spirited pop songs with a high-decibel, three-guitar attack that is at times wildly inventive, grungy, dissonant, and utterly melodic.”
