About Stu Ross: Entertainment Music Spotlight: Duo Blend Well Together By Glen Silverthorn/HamiltonSpectator Last Sunday afternoon, The Station Coffee House and Gallery was the location for a duo fronted by singer/songwriter and guitarist Stuart Ross. Original songs by Ross number about 60, of which he covered quite a few during the afternoon. They included love songs about longings and attachments like, "If I Saw Her Again," "All I Think About Is You" and another one about love for his motorcycle. I was impressed by the interesting chord patterns, breaks, and pauses during some of the songs where Stu did some excellent strong strumming passages backed up by secure bass work. Ross is currently working on his fourth album 'Best I Can'. From his third CD, he sang the title song, "New Day," which clearly encourages everyone to strike out and do the right thing, grasp at opportunities and take charge as a new day is on your doorstep. Near the end of his show he did a couple of great classics, including "Such A Night" and Chuck Berry's "Nadine." As a duo, they perform in the genres of alternate, country, blues, and folk."
