SUNIT & RAXSTAR merged in 2004 creatively to give birth to a new sound amalgamated in 'Keep It Undercover' (inspired by Commons classic I Used to Love HER). Raxstar's lyrical content & Sunit's inimitable sound proves that young talent cannot be pigeon holed into a stereotypical category. The response to the song was overwhelming and led both artists to appreciate that they had something which people wanted and needed to hear. The duo are not afraid to try something new, but are always faithful to their respective arts. Their joint EP is in the works, tentatively titled 'Fulfilling Ambition', and one of the standout tracks, SH1, is sure to mesmerize you with its haunting female vocals, awe-inspiring strings and effortless double-time rap. Although unsigned, it seems that these two artists are biding their time until they are snapped up by the right record company. They have created their own company Dream Warriors and are carving out an independent route to success (for themselves as well as other unsigned acts) under the umbrella of this company. They are slowly gaining momentum and are receiving support from public and industry alike. Demand for new material from ‘Sunit & Raxstar’ was and is very high, numerous emails from fans as far as San Francisco, Sydney, Delhi and even closer to home illustrate this point clearly; but the duo felt the need to showcase their existing material in video form. After pulling together whatever resources they could the video for ‘Keep It Undercover’ made its way to UK urban music station ‘Channel U’ and received enough votes from viewers to peak at number 4 in their top 20 chart. The video also received and is still receiving airplay on Asian channels Zee Music & Sony’s B4U Music. The impact that this team have made within the Asian music scene is impressive when considering the limited resources they have been working with. Most recently they have whittled down the wealth of material they have created to just 9 tracks which they are releasing independently as an EP entitled ‘Fulfilling Ambition’. This release along with a forthcoming mixtape will satisfy the hunger their supporters have for material from the duo and will also be a stepping stone for a future endeavors.
