简介
\"Incubus meets Sikth with a little funk, a little alt rock/indie and then lashings of amp melting metal.\" Metal Hammer Combining an eclectic variety of influences from old-school Rock and Metal to Funk and Acoustic grooves, five piece rock metal band Mishkin create their own style and sound, blending catchy, melodic hooks, well crafted songs, diverse and powerful vocals and expert musicianship. If you want a show that leaves you feeling pumped up and alive, Mishkin always deliver. Their live performance is breathtaking - bursting with energy and power, ensuring the crowd’s involved from start to finish. Even if you don’t get involved you won’t be able to stop watching! Offstage Mishkin are the friendliest bunch of guys you could meet – funny, unassuming and consumed by their passion for music. Says Vocalist Ben “We want everyone to enjoy our music and leave feeling energised. We’ve had people at our gigs who don’t usually listen to heavy music but they still come away with a fistful of merchandise and a new found appreciation of our style of music. Formed in 2004 Leeds five piece Mishkin – vocalist Ben Davy, guitarists Ali Epstone and Jimmy MacGregor, bassist Will MacGregor and drummer Del Nichol – have spent the last 4 years honing their craft and writing songs that set them apart from others in the genre. “We take great care in our songwriting” says guitarist Ali Epstone “and because we’re all into different kinds of music we work hard to make sure it works on all levels for all of us and for as wide and diverse an audience as possible. In the last 12 months the band have supported Sepultura, hed PE, Breed 77 and Enter Shikari. They’re receiving regular air play on BBC radio channels and have featured on SKY TV Music Channels, including Propeller, Scuzz and Kerrang. You’ll also find some Mishkin video clips on Youtube (some dating back a bit!) Mishkin made their first visit to China in 2007 playing to an ecstatic 60,000 crowd at the renowned Beijing Midi Festival. They’ve just returned from a second sellout 20 date tour of China and have been invited back for the Shanghai International Arts Festival. They’ve also been asked to represent the UK in Shanghai at EXPO 2010. They released their first EP ‘State of Mute Fear’ in November 2006 to critical acclaim and are now preparing new material for their debut album due for release at the end of 2008.
