简介
MassVelocity has been in the works since 2008. It has morphed from its original release title "The Composition" by Momentum and Randy "Red Hands" who collaboratively formed the group called "The King A Fool". The majority of the tracks in this album depict the early works of The King A Fool whose story can be viewed below. Some added tracks to this album include collaborations with singer/songwriter Emily G who featured on tracks entitled "This Is What We Live For" and "Lets Pretend". Momentum and Emily G have also combined to form the group named "A Year in the City". The duo plan on releasing an album together in the future. The tracks these two contributed to "MassVelocity" add diversity to the album allowing listeners to tap into their pop taste buds without compromising a focused flow that still brings the tenacity felt on every track. Another collaboration partner includes singer/songwriter Jonny Stones lead singer and guitarists of indie bands "Valley Forge", "Highfire Skyline", and "Skylight Escape". Jonny adds a melodious contrast of beautifully sung hooks and choruses to accompany some of Momentum's diverse flows. Some songs that Jonny show up on include: "Stay Tonight", "The Quiet Life" and acoustic tracks, "Tragedies" and "Agony Live" which were all played and sung by Jonny. The last major collaboration artist is rapper/producer Valhalla. His work in "Illist Lyricists " and "Just a Dream (Remix)" adds a dubstep flavor to this album; musically diversifying it even further. He also features in the first verse of "Illist Lyricists" and second verse of "Just a Dream (Remix)". These elements are all added to "MassVelocity" with the creative genius of Randy's beat making, the internal rhyme schemes, and lyricism of Momentum to create this hip hop masterpiece. Hip Hop is not dead! How "The King A Fool" got their name: Once upon a time there was a king who ruled a great and glorious nation. Favorite amongst his subjects was his royal painter. All agreed this old man painted the greatest pictures in the whole kingdom, and the king spent many hours gazing upon them. However, one day a dirty and dishevelled stranger presented himself to the king claiming he was the greatest painter in the land. The indignant king decreed a competition would be held between the two artists, confident it would teach the vagabond a lesson. Within a month they were both to produce a masterpiece that would out do the other. Thirty days later, both paintings and artists were called to the king's court to display their works. As a large crowd gathered, the king demanded the royal painter's masterpiece be unveiled. As the cloth was removed the crowd gasped. A beautiful bowl of exotic fruits in the center of masterful feast painted in oils amazed the crowd and king. A sparrow from the rafters of the hall even swooped down to try to snatch the fruit, and after hitting the canvas fell dead at the king's feet. "AHA," exclaimed the king, "My artist has produced a painting so wonderful it has fooled nature herself! You must agree he is the greatest painter who ever lived!" The stranger said nothing. "Pull the cloth from the painting," demanded the confident king. The stranger remained still and still was silent. The impatient king reached out to grab the cloth only to freeze with horror at the last moment. "You see," said the stranger quietly, "There is no cloth covering the painting. This actually is a painting of a cloth covering a painting. Your artist is content to fool nature, but I have made THE KING A FOOL."
