Residing in the Northern tip of the Midwestern state of Indiana, 22 year old Mexican Rapper prepares to debut his rap career and at the same time represent the unexposed yet rapidly growing Hispanic community in the Midwestern states. Nov. 2, 2009 marks the release date for his debut album “The American Dream”. A powerful album that expresses his views and protests against immigration raids and unfair laws against “illegal” immigrants Born Juan Andres Garcia in the small rancho town of Aldama, Tamaulipas he was later dubbed Maddog by his high school buddies in the U.S. “They started calling me Maddog cuz I use to sneak bottles of MD 20/20 into school and get all fucked up in class.” Says Maddog recalling how he got his nickname. At the age of 7 his parents decided to come to the states in pursue of the American dream. Here they faced many obstacles and struggles but like many Hispanic families they worked hard for their dreams and managed to get by. It was at an early age that Maddog fell in love with music. His dad use to record him on an old karaoke machine singing rancheras at the age of 4. (you can find an excerpt from one of those recordings on “The American Dream” album.) Influenced not only by similar rappers like Chingo Bling and Kinto Sol but also by his strong pride in his culture and by his background he comes with an array of songs delivering meaningful lyrics both in English and Spanish which represent every aspect of his culture. “I’m representing raza man I cover it all….everything from the gangster sh*t to the hard working immigrant sh*t.” Maddog says about his style of music. “It’s time someone steps up and puts it down for la raza out here in the Midwest cuz people don’t think there’s any of us here, but we’re right here and we steady keep growing like a motherf**ker! And there’s no law or no f**kin fence or no nothing that can stop us! We takin over this b**ch, like it or not…. So f**k la migra putos!”
