ATMA Classique is pleased to release a new recording devoted to the chamber music of renowned Italian composer, Ludovico Einaudi, performed by cellist Cameron Crozman, the Molinari Quartet, and Pentaedre wind ensemble. Einaudi Chamber Music is a digital-only release. Ludovico Einaudi Chamber Music features Canto, a solo work whose languor and incandescence heightens the cello’s singing quality. As its name suggests, Corale (chorale) for string quartet is inspired by hymns. Zoom conveys a burst of movement and energy, while Ai margini dell’aria reveals Einaudi’s passion for musical story-telling. Born in 1955 in Turin, Ludovico Einaudi has garnered worldwide renown for music composed for the concert hall, the cinema, and the theatre. In the 1980s, he composed pieces in traditional classical forms for small ensembles — string duos, quartets, and quintets — revealing his personal style and recalling elements from the music of Arvo Part and Philip Glass.
