简介

VOV vol. 4 (Gravity) is a compilation of new and original songs recorded in Asheville, NC with singer-songwriters from all over the country. Each song offers something unique as each is performed by a different artist. The title track was written, played and performed by Searra Gisondo and has a deep and grounding theme about existence and our place within it. Other songs on the record share similar ideas such as Lenny Pettinelli's "Between the Cracks", Sarah Hasty's "The Green and the Blue", "Catch a Thrill" by David Earl and Wolf Navarro's "The Ties that Bind". Some tunes are more about the good and bad aspects of love such as "Stuck in Your Ways" by Rachel Waterhouse, "In the Shade" by Laura Blackley, "Steady" by Oso Rey, "Hot Popcorn" by Andrea Lee and Noah Larrsen's "Train Song". Noah is actually the youngest artist on the record being only 14 years old (although you definitely wouldn't think so from the sound and skill of his voice and guitar). Also featured on this compilation is Jeff Thompson with a sentimental song about his daughter ("The One About Liza") that will be sure to tug at the listener's heartstrings and a working man's song about life in "Texas" by Beau Sniderman (played on a 12-string). With as much diversity as there is on this record, all the material flows together quite nicely and there is a good mix of male and female artists to balance it out. It's a great one to put on the stereo for a road trip, an evening sunset, a dinner with friends and family or anytime you feel like listening to something that will make you inspired. You can really hear some of each artist's story in their songs and there are certainly lessons to be learned from them. The best part about this record and any other volume of the VOV (Vibration of Versatility) Volume Series is that 30% of net profits from sales of all songs and albums both physical and digital will be donated to various music education charities and educations regionally, nationally and internationally. There will be at least 12 Volumes in the series (1 for each month of 2014) and every installment is comprised of music from a different genre. The VOV collective is trying to involve over 100 musicians from all over the world by the end of 2014 and hopes to grow in numbers in the years that follow. VOV is always open to new collaborators, sponsors, donations and any other kind of help or support to help the spread of this original music for a good cause.
