Koala will release his new single “Koalified (feat. pH-1 & Jay Park)” featuring pH-1 of H1GHR MUSIC record label and Jay Park on February 16, 2023, at 6 PM KST. This is Koala’s 3rd single following last year’s “끄덕여 (Good 2 Go) (feat. Jay Park),” which was released on June 21, 2022. “Koalified” is produced by Bobblehead Music and Jay Park. Jay Park had a significant part in this single as he not only took the role of the executive producer/director but also featured in the track along with pH-1. Koala is part of Bobblehead Music, a record label consisting of members JohnJohn, Jae Riggs, and CuzD. Bobblehead Music produced and composed Jessi’s hit songs “Drip,” “NUNU NANA,” “What Type of X,” “Cold Blooded,” and her most recent hit single “ZOOM.” With most members being Korean-American, the label has had a good rapport with fellow Korean-American artists such as Jessi, Jay Park, and pH-1, the latter two having featured on Koala’s upcoming single. Koala had been in talks with his good friend pH-1 about doing a song together. The two naturally came about with “Koalified” during one of their hangouts. Unlike Koala’s earlier singles “꽐라 (Ggwala) (feat. Truedy)” and “끄덕여 (Good 2 Go) (feat. Jay Park)” which have an energetic hip-hop, club-like feel to the beats and lyrics, “Koalified” has a much more mellow vibe. “Koalified” is a fun play on the name ‘Koala’ and the word ‘qualified.’ The song talks about meeting a woman with the qualifications of an amazing girlfriend, and that any two people should consider each other to be worthy and qualified to genuinely get along. Koala and pH-1 show a lot of chemistry in this track as their distinct styles work in synergy together. The music video for “Koalified” features pH-1 and Jay Park, and Netflix’s hit Korean reality dating show ‘Single’s Inferno 2’ star, Sejeong Park. It is packed with good, positive vibes of a weekend night out with good friends who are qualified in a positive way to one another.
