Born and raised in Cape Breton, Ryan's versatility and passion for excellence allowed him to make a very successful living writing, performing, and producing music in Eastern Canada. An award winning songwriter, Ryan has also composed instrumental scores for film and jingles for commercial radio, and operated his own recording studio. At the Eastern Canadian Bluegrass Awards, Ryan has been awarded "Songwriter of the Year" from 2005-2009 consecutively.
