It’s no surprise that music from Nashville got to Amber Kamminga from the just as rural town Grootebroek (The Netherlands), population: 9,000. The (country) music of Jewel and Kacey Musgraves brought big dreams for the small town girl. The last two years she’s been busy writing her bold but beautiful pop songs with that American sound. The musical journey took her from Groningen to Alkmaar, from national Radio1 to 3FM and from the Uitmarkt on Museumplein to Paradiso. The girl from Grootebroek even had a trip to Bar Lubitsch in LA. The band she gathered is ready, she graduated from Amsterdam Law School and in between she found time for a tinderdate or two. It proved to be a wonderful source of inspiration for lyrics. "Getting To Know You," the first single from the EP "Star-crossed Lovers", which will appear in December, tells the tale about one of those evenings with a little too much wine, and a man who is too good to be true. With these new songs Amber will play throughout the Netherlands this fall to conquer more hearts.
