Heavily influenced by artists such as Joni Mitchell, Carole King, Amos Lee, Glen Hansard and Ingrid Michaelson, Carrie’s music combines folk, jazz, and acoustic rock. With a background and training in Musical Theatre, her compositions are centered on vocals and storytelling through the poetry of lyrics. Carrie Brandon: In The Water is a compilation of songs composed and recorded all through her years in High School. This coming-of-age album observes the world with young eyes, while maintaining a mature, yet vulnerable sound. Friends and family joined Carrie to create In The Water, helping create a dynamic and exciting independently produced debut album. Carrie Brandon is an 18-year old singer-songwriter from Mill Valley, California. At the age of three she began recording children’s CD’s on the Music For Little People label, and knew from that time on that she wanted to pursue a career in music. She performed locally in musicals from the time she was five years old, and in Middle School began singing professionally. Her experience ranges from being the National Anthem soloist many times for the San Francisco 49ers and Giants to being the featured artist with the Reno Philharmonic and California Symphony. She became serious about writing music at thirteen, and has been using her compositions to explore her thoughts and emotions, and to connect with herself and others. Carrie has shared her music around the San Francisco Bay Area in many benefits for causes such as cancer research, musical education for children, help for the victims of the disasters in Haiti and New Orleans, as well as in various local Bay Area venues. Carrie trained for six years at SF’s American Conservatory Young Conservatory and is currently pursuing a BFA in Musical Theatre at Pennsylvania State University.
