Amazon-Bluenile releases its latest album; Miss Cassie All Stars. The album features an electric mix of some of Jamaica’s best know, and upcoming artistes – Mickey General, Cedric Myton of the Congos, Dr. Cabull Bird, Fire Edgiton, Yabba Youth, Mr. Leee, Suga Ants, Bogwalk, Winston Hussy, Amazon, Simba, Fire Blazer, Sata lite, Luke Man, Yachuru, and Daddy Teacha. Miss Cassie makes welcome return to traditional Jamaican reggae music. Influenced by the great studio one era, studio proprietor, engineer, producer and musician, Sean “Amazon” Woodhouse utilizes his immense experience to produce this classic roots and culture reggae album. “Amazon” has worked with many of Jamaica’s top reggae artistes, at the Amazon Studios. Moving away from the dancehall movement of reggae music “MISS CASSIE” refreshingly captures the full culture and spirit of Jamaica. ARTISTS BIO: DR. CABULL BIRD BIO Moxey G. Broomfield A.K.A Dr. Cabull Bird is hailed by his peers as one of the most versatile and pioneering artiste in the reggae music industry. Critics said his lyrics and style are likening to the cool ruler Gregory Isaacs, with a healthy dose of Dennis Brown. Major players in the industry label him as one of the best lovers rock/roots and culture singer to date. Dr. Cabull Bird is currently working on his long awaited debut album for the Amazon-Bluenile Recording label. His first release came in 1992 when his single strange thing was released on the Apartheid compilation album. In 2004, Two Hearts, one of Dr. Cabull Bird’s most successful singles was released to rave reviews and steady rotation on Irie FM. In 2005 Miss Cassie was released, on the Miss Cassie rhythm. The single was a critical success, and helped to establish him as performer to contend with. In 2006 the Miss Cassie single was released on a compellation CD, entitled Miss Cassie All Stars. Dr. Cabull bird reached a musical milestone when signed a multi-year contact with the Amazon-Bluenile label. Dr. Cabull Bird hailed from the parish of St. Catherine. He started his musical career at a very tender age by performing on bandwagons, and festivals. Throughout his performances he gained many fans, and the said fans dubbed him Dr. Cabull Bird. One of his most cherished moments came when he copped the prize for best performer at the Jamaica Cultural Development Commission Festival Bandwagon for the St. Catherine zone. Dr. Cabull Bird has worked with some of Jamaica’s best bands, and recorded dubplates for a number of sound systems. Dr. Cabull Bird has more than two decades in the business and has recorded more than twenty singles - vineyard, need a girl, Oh Mama – just to name a few. FIRE EDGITON BIO Leon Powell A.K.A Fire Edgiton has been in the reggae music industry since the 1980’s. He is regarded as the penultimate performer by his mentors Josey Wales and Brigadier Jerry. His lyrics are hard-hitting, uplifting, educational, and politically concerned. Fire Edgiton is one of the best roots and culture DJ’s in the industry to date. Fire Edgiton is currently working on his debut album for the Amazon-Bluenile label. His most successful single Selassie I will, was released on the Miss Cassie All Stars compilation CD, and on the Ten Music Videos compilation DVD. Selassie I Will was released on 45 in 2005 to rave reviews, and garnered him respect from his fellow DJ’s, industry players, and fans that regularly supports his appearances. Fire Edgiton reached a musical milestone in 2006 when he signed a multi-year management and recording contract with the Amazon-Bluenile label. Fire Edgiton’s sound system performances are currently being distributed world wide on CD and DVD by Jet Star. Fire Edgiton was inspired from an early age by two of reggae’s legends; Josey Wales and Brigadier Jerry. He started to DJ on King teg-a-reg, a popular sound system, in the 1980’s, under the guidance of Journalist. Fire Edgiton became known for his ability to win sound clashes with his on-the-fly, hard-hitting lyrics. Fire Edgiton was later discovered by Valrie Robinson of V-Rocket, a sound system based in England, who took him to England. While in England he performed in clubs and on shows, touring England, Holland, and New York. Fire Edgiton returned to Jamaica at the turn of the century to rebuild his Jamaican fan base, and create Jamaican reggae music. He joined the Amazon-Bluenile label, and then recorded Selassie I Will, Life too Sweet, and World War Ya Now. Fire Edgiton wants his music to educate and unite the peoples of the world. YABBA YOUTH BIO Yabba Youth, born Robert Dallas, is a lover’s rock/roots and culture reggae artiste, and is regarded as one of the best in the industry. He is known for his soulful, heartwarming lyrics. Yabba Youth is currently working on his long awaited first album for the Amazon-Bluenile label. In 2005 he recorded his most successful single, Sweet and Nicest Girl, to rave reviews, and steady radio plays. The said single was later released in 2006 on compilation album entitled Miss Cassie All Stars. Later in the year, because of the popularity of the single, a music video was produced. The music received plays on local and international television. Yabba Youth hails the parish of Claredon, he was always boasting that he has enough lyrics to full a “yabba” (a large cooking pot), his friends dubbed him, Yabba Youth, the moniker under which he records. He began performing on local talent shows and concerts. He recorded his first single, Idle Jackass for the Big 7 label, and then continued with life Inna Jail for the Jammy’s label, True loving and Youth tradition for the Humble Lion label, and Trod Along for the Sweet Jah label. He was then brought to the attention of the veteran producer Sean “Amazon” Woodhouse, who gave him a home at Original Amazon Nuzkis Recording Co, Ltd to develop his musical career. Since signing with Woodhouse he has recorded hit songs such as War and Crime, Let Jah Be Praised, Baby I Love You, and a number of unreleased songs. Yabba Youth is very passionate about his music, and he is bent on achieving his dream. DADDY TEACHA BIO Originally hailing from the midlands, "Daddy" Teacha arrived in Plymouth with a firm Reggae background, and coupled with influences from the soul and house styles of music, has succeeded, over the past 20 years in producing his very own styalised and professional repertoire. Teacha has, performed at such venues as the Glastonbury Festival, Cornwall Coloseum, major universities, Plymouth Theatre Royal, Plymouth Pavillions, Exeter's St Georges Hall, Glastonbury, Plymouth Heineken Festival, performing Roots and Dub and delivering a personalised commercial reggae show of covers of from Boyzone, Marley, Aswad, Elvis, Brenda Lee, Gregory Isaacs, UB40, Celine Dione, Inner Circle Robbie Williams and many others, and include original songs, to many variously sized and varied venues from pubs to social clubs in and around the southwest and include exclusive shows for private functions such as weddings and birthdays etc. Teacha has performed/worked/recorded with or under billed many well known acts including; The Abyssinans, Dillinger, Sly and Robbie, Mad Professor, Gentleman, Pato Banton, John Mclean, UK Apache, Sugar Minott, the Heptones, Desmond Decker, Burning Spear, Macka B, The Disciples, OSS Records, TANTY records, and others. Teacha has enjoyed working as a Radio Presenter, and has been a regular member of Radio Avalon (the official Glastonbury Festival Radio Station) for the past 10 years, conducting exclusive interviews with such artists as James Brown, Luciano, Nitin Sawney, The Wailers and Junior Delgado to name a few. Teacha has enjoyed receiving airplay for his own material on radio one with Andy Kershaw, Kiss FM, top ten play listing on two German local radio stations, and airplay and interviews for many other national and international radio stations. 1996 saw Teacha performing for a West Country Television production. Teacha has performed regularly abroad, in such places as Montego Bay (Jamaica), the Canary islands, Canada, Mexico, Poland Sweden and Germany. Record releases include works with a number of Labels and artists, including Germanys Di Iries, and UK's Alpha and Omega, the Uptones, Tanty Records, Irie Hi-Fi, and has been distrubuted in Europe, Japan and the US. Teacha enjoys many various types of music from rock to classical, but the heart lies with Roots, Dub and Lovers rock reggae.
