This is John Boyd's debut album: "Passing Strangers and Funny People."

This album combines many elements of late 70's and early 80's album rock. Perhaps the sound comes from a combination of Boyd's cerebral rock influences and producer Mattson Rainer's roots based music background. Boyd's vocals are sincere and emotional drawing the listener into the lyrics. Cellist Aurelia Rocha is a feature on the album and a cradle for the vocals. Lead guitarist/co-writer Ray Tamez brings a "blues based "guitar performance that falls somewhere between David Gilmore of Pink Floyd and Jimmy Page of Led Zeppelin. Drummer Chris Dodds (Sixpence None The Richer, Two Tons of Steel, Love Coma) lays down a solid foundation of drumming.
