apocalypse pretty soon – drive to brazil. why not? are you in? • be haiku – a meditation. aka talking to myself • canal – from branch to branch beside me a wounded sparrow hops • too much coffee – lost $2000 playing omaha hi-lo split in a los angeles area cardroom, won it back the next day, then drove back up the coast at 3 am feeling like a winner • physics experiment – what happens if you are on a train that is moving at almost the speed of light and you turn on a flashlight? • those poppies – i don’t like to worry, or maybe i do • too late – apologies to the bass player. nobody calls her “rebecca” • letter from joanne – there was a place called alton house in nyc, and back in the 1970s it was chock full o’ hippies, and also other characters who had wandered outside the establishment force field, and in this mix lived an exceptional elderly gentleman named martin, and a free-spirited woman named joanne who ran the place. i was honored to be counted among their friends • wakulla beach – from tallahassee, drive straight south until you hit the water. not the kind of beach i was expecting when i went there and took this picture • martin – i see martin smiling. now he’s laughing.
