简介

Conceived by Richie Ray of Charleston WV, Shindig is quickly becoming one of the fastest growing pop bands on the independent music scene. In the past four years Shindig has sold over 20,000 records, played over 700 dates, has over 400,000 plays on MySpace, has been featured in Alternative Press Magazine, and has had their video for "When Words Aren't Enough" on both MTV2 & FUSE. Shindig became a solo/acoustic project in the middle of their first national tour when the band got home sick and left Richie Ray to his own devices in 2003. Never one to quit, Richie threw his guitar on his back and spent the next three years on the road building audiences wherever he went performing under the name Shindig. During those travels his musical peers, and fans alike, fell in love with Richie's catchy lyrics and the idea of another group took root. Richie has been credited by Jimmy Robbins (Universal/ Motown Records) as an inspiration for his aspirations of becoming a singer/ songwriter, appeared in Cartel's video for "Honestly" (Epic/ Sony Records), and counts guitarist James Black from Finger Eleven (Wind-up Records) as a fan. Shindig released its debut full length, This Beginning Is Your End, on Undecided/Victory Records, and in July 2006, began touring again as a full band incarnation. The band features bassist Josh Dunning (Springfield, IL), lead guitarist Ric Bottoms (Indianapolis, IN), rhythm guitarist Nick Carlysle (Louisville, KY) and drummer Curtis McGaha (Indianapolis, IN). Their music and lyrics are best described by a fan posting to their MySpace; "I just had a one-woman dance party to your music." In other words, Shindig makes music fun again. Shindig fan favorite songs include "Baby I Was Born To Move" which found it's way to the airwaves when Louisville's WDJX DJ Kelly K. fell in love with the infectious chorus and wanted to "shake it baby". "I'm The Type Of Guy" simultaneously tells the girls who to stay away from while drawing them in, in the way only a bad boy can. Not knowing the meaning of home, Shindig tours endlessly. Sharing the stage with Fall Out Boy, Motion City Soundtrack, Finger Eleven, All Time Low, Bayside, The Spill Canvas, Fugazi, New Found Glory, The Ataris, Saves The Day, The Plain White T's, Further Seems Forever, Mae & Bowling For Soup, they have been winning over audiences one show at a time . Skratch Magazine said it best: "Check him out before he's the next big thing."
