Following the critical success of his album "Rivers" and a three year stint as banjoist and vocalist with The Jim Hurst Band, Scott Anderson has teamed with his daughter Amanda on "Another Day," a tasty buffet of Americana and bluegrass tunes. In addition to Amanda on vocals and fiddle and Scott on vocals, guitar, and banjo, "Another Day" features spicy musical support from friends Michael Godwin, David McMillan, Mark Schatz, Tommy Slaughter, Cory Walker, Jarrod Walker, and Austin Wilder. Amanda started singing when she was about two years old. Later she took piano lessons, played flute in the school band, and sang in church while her dad Scott played guitar. In September of 2007 she started playing fiddle. Things moved along and in January of 2008 Amanda and Scott Anderson had their first paying gig together as a duo. In the next year or so, they continued building their repertoire and played quite a few gigs as the duo and also with The Scott Anderson Band and The Bluegrass Parlor Band. Eventually, it seemed to be time to record. Amanda was fifteen years old at the time of this recording (Scott was forty-four) and had been playing fiddle for about 19 months (while Scott had been playing for about 32 years.) Amanda Anderson has thrived under the gentle watch of her father and Gainesville musician-extraordinaire, Scott Anderson.
