If you listen close to the swing of Teague's voice, guitar and harmonica you can hear he has not completely forgotten his young days as a reggae and funk obsessed hip hop DJ. If you listen to his wordplay you can still hear a hint of the Irish storytellers he descended from and the rapper he was as a youth. It is an ever-expanding backdrop for a profound American writer and storyteller. North Star Press recently published a collection of Teague’s rhyming folktales including How Lefty Stepanovich Turned Water Into Wine - winner of 2014 Duluth Reader's Best Book of the Northland. The book is called The New Folklore: Lyrical Tales for Dreamers & Thinkers and is a continuation on the theme of the 2006 album also called The New Folklore by Teague Alexy & The Feelin Band (featuring Nicholas David).
