"Me" is a song about comparison. When I was in high school, I did not find value in myself. I thought that I wasn't cool enough, funny enough, or smart enough to be appreciated. Instead I envied those who were popular. I wanted to be liked and emulated the people who seemed liked. I longed for the approval of others. Unfortunately, comparing myself only left me bitter or vain. Since then, God has shown me that my true identity is in Him, and that I do not need the approval of others to have self worth. I have grown to love myself and appreciate my uniqueness. I do have worth, because God says I do.

This song was written to one of the popular kids I used to envy in high school.
