简介
Growing up in the Cortese home meant listening to Ralph Carmichael’s music, whether you liked it or not. My sisters, a gospel singing trio, sang anything and everything they could get their hands on by this legend of both sacred and secular genres. His music was considered radical, cutting edge, even offensive for the evangelical world of that day. He was severely persecuted by the church, “because of the electric guitars and drums.” Years later I came across those same vinyl’s (For Pete’s Sake, He’s Everything To Me, Natural High, The Cross & The Switchblade) and the experience brought me to tears. Not only did it have me revisit my entire childhood, but it also helped me to realize that God’s word shall stand forevermore. Ralph Carmichael’s music has always been about the Word, and that’s what makes it timeless. On this recording, you’ll hear Ralph Carmichael’s personal commentary on theology, Christology, redemption, solitude, prayer, devotion, and worship. It is an honor to be able to visit these songs so that today’s generation might be as blessed as we were back in the 60’s and early 70’s.
