New Jazzmin releases product by french duo based in strasbourg : Steppah Huntah The story of Steppah Huntah is the story of two musicians - Steven J, a bass player and Oless-t, a pianist, and a chance meeting at a Strasbourg jazz club one Autumn evening in 2002. The duo were soon inspired to work together to fuse their love for jazz, afrobeat & funk in the service of a new driven sound, powered by the seemingly endless possibilities offered by new computer technology. Instinctively, the musicians looked west to the emerging beat and kind of jazz style, deeply influenced in their musical experimentation by pioneers such as Incognito, TALKING LOUD Label. The duo released their first single Olescoop / Kwolg Universe on the Soultronik label in 2003. The follow-up Walk This Step, distributed by the Munich-based sponsor Compost and the remixes by Seiji and Bugz In The Attic announced the arrival of Steppah Huntah to a wider audience and earned the Strasbourg pair the respect of DJs and musicians alike. The darkly seductive Walk This Step soon became a must-have record for specialist DJs the world over. Suddenly, Steppah Huntah was a name worth mentioning and a profound influence on the development of other groups and DJs in Strasbourg that made the Alsace frontier town the arena of Kind of Beat in France. This New releases featuring Berlin-based songwriter/producer/singer Georg Levin has set his own mark within the international electronic music scene right from his very first release "When I'm With You" in 2001.
