'Come to Jesus' is a song that has been with me for the last twenty years. I wrote it when I was fifteen years old. Then, my sole purpose for writing this song was to avoid getting in trouble with my mother because I had done something she told me not to do. Knowing that she was/is a very spiritual person, I presented this song to her to appeal to that spiritual side in a futile effort to defer questions about what I had done. In my haste to write this song, it was written to the melody of 'Tender Love' (Force MDs). Over the last twenty years I've come to find that the lyrics to 'Come to Jesus' have a whole different meaning to me now.
