Karthick Iyer Live - a collaboration of musicians from different musical cultures - showcases Indian music in a never seen before global format. While working with diverse artists from across the world in concerts and festivals across Asia, Europe, Australia and North America, Karthick’s search for his own inner music led him to start this band.

The band’s music is a heady brew of Indian classical vocals, the electric violin, edgy rock guitar grooves, Afro Cuban rhythms, and South India’s own mridangam. The electric violin takes on a new identity, breaking out of the norms of classi- cal music, while retaining a distinctly Indian spirit. The band composes in both Tamil and English, and explores contemporary adaptations of Indian classical standards - resulting in soulful music that is grounded in tradition, but not bound by it.
