简介

Spreading curiosity and a sense of wonder through music, Hannah Smith, better known as Eitch (pronounced "H") is anything but ordinary. Obsessed with the notion that not everything is as it seems, Eitch uses her lyrics as a means to tell a story that is both of human nature and otherworldly origin.   A self taught 'computer composer', Eitch started producing and recording music using software and midi early on as a teen in the basement of her mother's house. What gave rise was a lyrically dense and vocally forward blend of alternative, electronic, and pop—or what she prefers to call "Altronipop". In 2010 Eitch released her debut album 'Everything, Nothing', a collection of work she began assembling over the course of four years. The album's theme is largely inspired by her innate fascination with the cosmos and love of asking 'big questions', regarding life's purpose; discovering personal faith; and coming to terms with the daunting reality of reaching one's potential and all it takes to get there. In 2012, Icelandic singer and acclaimed musical artist, selected Eitch to be the worldwide winner of her lyric competition for the song 'Cosmogony' during the singer's most recent Biophilia tour. Eitch's original verse about String Theory and the origin of the universe would be performed by *****, live, on February 18th in Queens, New York. This past May, Eitch released her latest EP,  'Health: Four Songs for the Past, Present, and Future you.' It would mark three years since the debut of 'Everything, Nothing', and one can't help but notice of the overall growth in production and songwriting that makes itself evident across all four tracks. Pushing her "Altronipop" sound towards imaginative new realms—morphing somewhere between the magical and mechanical—'Health' provokes and seduces, just as well as it nourishes the mind. Four artists were selected to visually interpret each song's essence into cover art, creating a unique and diverse spread representing the EP from multiple angles. 'Health' was mixed with the great help of seasoned producer and sound engineer (and personal best buddy), Ian Stewart, and mastered at Salt Mastering by Paul Gold in Brooklyn, NY. Live, Eitch gives a theatrically charged performance driven by interpretive hip-hop-esque movement, surrendering to the present moment and the meaning that her words take on each day. No one show is the same—each audience has different needs—yet the intention to provide people with an enchanting template to self reflect remains consistent and is growing exponentially stronger. Like an intense craving, Eitch works to birth love out of indifference, find the beauty in the neglected, and realize that which connects everything. As she explores her Self in front of the audience, so does the audience provide the tools for honest exploration. It's a collaboration, even if only in the subconscious mind. 'Health' was made digitally available online, and hard copies of 'Everything, Nothing' can be found carried throughout the Amoeba Music Stores around California.
