It's not only their five records on MBF and two huge hits which have made Piemont decide to record an album. Much more than that, it is their consistency over the last years with various releases and remixes also on other labels, plus not accepting any conmpromise on style and quality that made them record a whole album of new tracks called: „Strange World Beyond“ . Dedicated to the deep sea, each track plays a special role for them with this concept album. „Carbonat“ and „Black Smoker“ catapulted Piemont into many charts and DJ lists and established their unique and outstanding sound. They have been supported heavily in the past by Richie Hawtin, DJ Hell, Dubfire, John Digweed, Deep Dish, Carl Cox, Oliver Koletzki, Oliver Huntermann and more... Piemont aka Fredric Möring-Sack and Christian de Jonquières are not a product of the minimal techno of now, but have been with the scene for much longer, being influenced by advanced technology and sound design as well as the history of electronic music. The duo has the gift of bringing things together in a way that makes their sound so special: modern sound design fused with a fantastic sense for funky beat programming and a good sense for clubby moments that was developed by their live appearances and gigs. Piemont have recently played in The Cocoon Club, toured Japan and have played festivals and clubs all around Europe and will play showcases during their album tour which starts in January 2009. For Piemont a track is never finished. The doubt of never being able to live up to the ideal of „the perfect song“ is a source of creativity for them, keeping them striving for more interesting arrangements and sounds. That Piemont's background is not solely a techno one but includes many influences they can draw on, can be witnessed by their sympathy for different musical styles on their album . „Strange World Beyond“ creates funky rocking moments of clubbiness with tracks such as: „Eyeshine“, „Strange World Beyond“, „Lighter Than Seawater“ and „Talk Flows Like A River“, and also includes their hits „Carbonat“ and „Black Smoker“. On the other hand Piemont suprise us with atmospheric tracks that have an abstract edge to them, like „Baillie Sound Machines“, „Lowest Layer“ and „Cages Of Snares“ as well as really deep and driving cool tracks such as: „Loss Of Focus“ and „Digits Died Out“. Both tracks are much more on the house tip and show deep moments and musical versatility. The cover art was produced by Yvette Klein who created an underwater scene for them with cartoon fish and creatures. The Cologne duo, graphic designer Alex Cremer and video producer Severin Schultze aka "Sevra & Stas" (Monokompatibel) have created a video for the album for the title track „Strange World From Beyond“ alongside all the other videos they have produced for Piemont´s 12" in the past.
