Eliot James and the Snakes BIO Forming during the summer of 2000, Eliot James and the Snakes came out swinging hard in the Atlanta underground rock scene. Selling out the Dark Horse Tavern on their 2cd show and packing rooms all over the city in the 3 months between forming and frontman Eliot James (a.k.a. JJ) leaving to tour with Marvelous 3. 6 Months later the band reassembles at Koda Studios in Decatur Ga, and begins work on their debut CD "Year of the Snake" recording takes place over the next 9 months in between Snakes shows around the Southeast and M3 dates. Nov. of 2001 the first full length release hits the streets. It's a truly independent release, with songwriting,engineering/producing/mixing/artwork, and manufacturing all being handled from within the band. Before the end of the next year, the CD will go on to sell more than 2000 copies and grossing the Snakes over $20,000.00 with no deal of anykind at all. No label, No manager, no booking agent, no lawyers , nothing but good old fashioned touring and new fangled internet. 2003... On Tour Agency, a Charlotte, NC Booking agency starts booking the band, and the Snakes keep touring the Southeast while working out their next CD at KODA Studios in Decatur. "ALL YOU WANT" is released in September of 2003 with photo, branding and packaging by award-winning designer, seanrox.com... the tour continues with the three original members. 2004... Eliot James, Nick Volpe, and Lauren Betty (of Betty Rebel) being joined by the new rhythm section of Billy Rado and Derek Thomas solidifying the lineup as they begin the writing process for their third release.
