The band began with sisters Kara and Casi Carlson establishing themselves with the recording of their debut EP, "The Future Is..." with producer Jordan Schmidt (All Time Low, Jamestown Story, The Morning Light). Upon the EP's completion the duo immediately began searching for band members to fill out the sound. Through endless auditions and member tryouts the final line-up was vested in late spring of 2008. Plucked from various parts of the nation, bassist Steven Keller (WI), guitarist Aaron Wesselman (VA), and drummer Billy Toti (HI) drew end to the search. Kara Carlson stated, "We definitely took our time with the auditions, we wanted to make sure that these were people we could literally spend the rest of our lives with. Not only do we click as musicians, but we have become family".
