简介
Amoroso Guitar Duo's music highlights the lyricism and beauty found in 20th-century South American music. Romantic era harmonies are combined with rhythms of tango, milonga, vals and merengue and the endearing melodic traditions of Brazil, Venezuela and Argentina. Amoroso presents sensual readings of Pujol, Jobim, Piazzolla, Montes and uncovers jewels of the Latinate world by Timoteo and Nogueira, composers little known outside South America. Guitar arrangements of Canta Mais and La Partida underscore the warmth inherent in this music, and the passionate renderings of Libertango, Adios Nonino and Tango de Abril reveal how close the guitar's voice was to the heartbeat of modern tango. The intimacy of tunes such as Montes' Cancion and Pujol's Café para Dos settles the recording into the romantic ethos alive today in South American guitar music. Felicity Muench's musical journey began at the age of 7 when she found herself fascinated with a toy guitar. Noticing her curiosity, her parents enrolled her for classical guitar lessons in Albuquerque, NM. This was the beginning of a life and career filled with the joy of music. Felicity discovered her love for teaching guitar at age 16. She received her B.M. and M.A. degrees in classical guitar performance from the University of New Mexico and California State University, Northridge, respectively. Working with students of all ages and abilities, Felicity is profoundly passionate about music education. She spent twenty years heading the guitar department at Colorado Christian University, has worked with children in music therapy programs, has taught for senior centers and has a thriving private guitar studio near Boulder, CO. In addition to being a talented teacher, Felicity is also sought after for her outstanding performance abilities. She provided music for the television documentary "Vinnie Ream: Lincoln's Young Sculptor" which is currently being sold at the White House and both hosted and provided the music for a second television documentary "Longmont's Carnegie Library" in 2015. With Amoroso Guitar Duo, new recordings, more concerts and many students ahead, the journey continues. Kevin Garry has placed in national guitar competitions including the Classical Guitar Competition in Seattle and the Allied Arts Guitar Competition in Spokane. In addition to appearing as the featured soloist with the Colorado Music Festival, the Mahler Fest, and the Aurora, CO. orchestra, Mr. Garry has premiered numerous works written for him by such composers as Bryan Johanson, John Drumheller and Charles Argersinger. While earning his Doctorate Degree in Guitar from the University of Colorado at Boulder, he authored several articles on guitar history and was the author and recording artist of three international instructional DVD's in the award-winning eMedia Guitar Series. Recent recordings include Lullabies for Emma and soundtrack music for the documentary 'Women Warriors.' Dr. Garry has performed and recorded with Peruvian virtuoso Alfredo Muro and Irish master fiddler Manus McGuire. He currently performs with the Pure Piaf show and leads various groups including his Parisian world music ensemble Amelie Quartet. Dr. Garry is the director of the music program at Front Range College and is a featured presenter for the 2016 Guitar Foundation of America annual conference.
