简介
The idyllic and alternative ukulele trio uranawanaii will release their new single "UKE ME BABY" on November 30th. The title track of the previous album, "UKULELE SURVIVE", which was highly praised as "Music that feels alive" by a review by a music magazine known for its dryness, was an attempt to mix 90s music, but this album challenges an easy-to-understand 80s sound approach while making the songs feel connected. The message in the lyrics also changed from "I'm going to sing to your town" to "Let me hear your sound". This work was co-written by Harumi and NORIO, both lyrics and composition, and the simple drum and bass synth that seems to aim for "the first 8 beats that everyone once typed" is programmed by NORIO. Of course, on top of that, the three of them play the ukulele. The ukulele, synthesizer, and vocals of Harumi and NORIO were recorded at OTOlab in Koenji, but the vocals and ukulele of Juritani Heartbreak were recorded on an iPhone and imported into the DAW. The mixing and mastering were done by Natsuki Ishikura, and the aim was to create a sound that pays tribute to Ryuichi Sakamoto and Yukihiro Takahashi. And the jacket was taken by his ally Kadokura Takahiro. The shadow of the woman holding the ukulele in the image is Machiko Maui, a ukulele singer-songwriter whom the members admire. When I tried to synthesize the letters of the logo that happened to be in the jacket proposal with the one that Takahiro Kadokura had published on Instagram, it was perfect for the image of the song, so I asked him to let me use it, and it became a rare collaboration with a photo of other musicians instead of the musicians. Including the artwork, the work is full of ukulele love.
