简介

Love lost and found is never far away but that's ok. Whole lot of money We wrote the lyrics to this the day that the news of British comedian Jimmy Carr and the tax avoidance story hit the headlines.  The Prime Minister got publicly upset about people buying tickets for Jimmy’s gigs with post-tax income who had a little off shore avoidance strategy. Meanwhile Jimmy's on the tv ripping bankers up. Some irony. Also, easy to judge others when your family have a few million quid in the bank. More irony.  The song isn’t hugely political but I suppose is a commentary of the irony of capitalism’s global predicament and the financial rules under which it operates.  It’s ok to work within the rules to be tax efficient, but don’t be too efficient because that’s unethical. Unless of course you are party donor? We had the shell of a song kicking around for a while, but we got together the day the story broke and had some fun with it. The first part of the song is a bit Happy Mondays-esque with a Shaun Ryder-style wailing melody in the verses.  The second half of the song  has a hypnotic blues-rock riff which changes pace to a thoughtful repetition of the lyrics. We blame all the bankers but it seems the only banker is me. We love you Jimmy. Rise Recorded with Tristan Ivemy at the Engine Rooms where 'what's the story' was recorded. 2nd verse wasn't quite nailed when we got there. Simon nearly got himself arrested over a disagreement with a parking enforcement officer but we got there. The moment that I rise you make me feel alive, told you so. It had the word a** in it a couple of times. Nothing too offensive but we dropped it with the radio in mind, wish we hadn't we like the a**. No capo sort of G F and C in first position with a twist. Written by Antony, Simon wrote the second verse. Don't get out with the engine running. Open Up Also recorded with Tristan. We recorded this with radio play in mind. Someone rang Antony after a gig and said he still had the chorus in his head after 3 weeks. I'll never deceive you. Capo on the 5th you know what I mean? Written by Antony. Simon's chorus. You Saw Written about Simon's wife Hayley and the early days of their relationship and other stuff. Simon fell for Hayley. We all fell for the middle 8 in this track. Capo on the 2nd, Em and Asus2 in the verses. Please don’t leave Its not about you. Someone at the BBC liked this. One of our first tracks. Also everyone's favourite for the first 4 years. Please don't leave. Capo on the 3rd - who would've thought that? Written by Antony. Kids Probably our most popular live track. Simon wrote these lyrics after Hayley had a miscarriage. He drove into a lamp post on the way to the hospital. Annoyingly catchy drums. And the sing along part. Oh yes you know what I mean people. Oh. All I Ever Ex's. No capo - barre chords in the verses: Am F C E and the verses 1st position F C and E. written by Antony Peace of MInd Hi Francesca this one is for you. No capo starts on a G. Theres a C, D Am7 and an Em in there too somewhere. Written by Antony. And you know I love you. Reprise When we recorded All I ever we kept repeating the outtro and the producer (Justin Callaway - The Delays from Vivid) got into it. N'est-ce-pas? Chemical Reaction Some kind of physical attraction. I told you so. No capo baby just some C, Am, F and some others. I don't get that from you. Written by Antony. Coming Down The clarity of creativity during post Jack Daniels hang over and the energy you feel when you come round. Written by Simon by the sea on the South Coast of the UK with a numb head.
