简介

Homecoming is the first release of original tunes released by Singapore's King of Swing Jeremy Monteiro, adding to his discography of more than 20 albums. Some of these tunes were written by Jeremy and a few tunes are written in collaboration with Ernie Watts, Eldee Young and Belinda Moody. The album features the members of the Jeremy Monteiro International Trio, with drummer Shawn Kelley and bassist Belinda Moody. The album also features Grammy Award winning saxophonist Ernie Watts, top Chicago jazzman Greg Fishman on tenor sax and flute, former Elvis Presley sideman Ron Feuer and one of Singapore’s top percussionists, Mohamed Noor. The tunes range from the angular sounding tune, “The Bubala Dance”, the reflective “Life Goes On” the Bluesy “Blues For Ray” and the happy rhythmic title track, “Homecoming”. The album was recorded and mixed by engineer Paul Tavenner at Big City Recording and mastered at Man Alive Music in Los Angeles between June 2004 and May 2005. The artwork for the CD was done by I-Ming, a professional artist based in Penang who has designed all the previous Jazznote releases. The cost of recording the album was largely funded by the National Arts Council of Singapore through its Cultural Medallion Grant, which Jeremy received after being awarded the Cultural Medallion in 2002. The Cultural Medallion is Singapore's pinnacle award in artistic achievement in 2002. The CD, produced by Jazznote Records (a division of Showtime Productions P/L) is distributed by Universal Music in Singapore, InterGlobal Music in Malaysia, Promusica in Thailand, and May Audio Marketing in the US/Canada. Online retail is through cdbaby.com with digital download distribution in Australasia by soundbuzz.com from June 2006. It will also be available on Apple iTunes USA and many other legal download sites by August 2006.
