MeloD got her musical education when she was growing up in Montreal, from the classical piano lessons she began in her formative years and in her various high school bands ranging in styles from folk to jazz but mostly from her grandfather, a piano player with a flare for ditties, who knew only the black notes on their old Heintzman upright piano. "I used to think Grandad knew just about every musical rhyme there was, or at least in the world I grew up in.”

MeloD attended Ecole Normale de Musique in Montreal on a music bursary and then moved to Guelph, Ontario where she lived for several years before moving to Ontario’s far north. By 1999, she was based in Gardiner, Ontario, writing and arranging for others. Having studied at both Berklee College and Point Blank of London, for years she has thought about producing her own music and this, is her debut year! In collaboration with a Bert Tami, a fellow composer, she released this Latin style single. In 2015 she also issued a seasonal CD, Acappella Christmas In The Mountains.
