Freddy Monday Singer/Songwriter Freddy Monday has embarked upon his first venture as a solo artist with the release of his "Words In Pencil" CD. Freddy sings all the vocals and plays all the instruments on this melodic,pop rock album. He also produced, arranged and recorded all the tracks. "On this record I stayed completely true to myself " says Freddy " I have always been most effected by melodic songs and sometimes stayed away from that in my writing, but not this time. All of these songs came out of my experiences, and it feels great knowing that." Born and raised in New York, Freddy grew up listening to The Beatles. His love for music started young; he began writing and recording at the age of 11 and formed his first band at 14. Since then he has been a full-time musician and currently performs over 100 shows a year. Highlights... ......Freddy Monday releases his debut solo CD "Words In Pencil" on Endo Music. The Freddy Monday band performs at the wrap party for the CBS music industry sitcom LOVE MONKEY. Freddy Monday band opens for Colin Hay (of Men At Work) in Freddy's first show as a solo artist. ...Freddy Monday with Sorethumb release the CD "Spinning Out To The 45" on indie label Bullet Records. Monday produced most of the tracks and co-produced a few with Steve Rinkoff (Celine Dion, Meatloaf) and Rob Eaton (Jimmy Buffett, Pat Metheny). The first single was the Monday penned "I Want To Be Your Davy Jones". The band shot a video for the song which features an appearance from Davy Jones of The Monkees. The video was shot at the Hammerstein Ballroom, NYC and on location. VH1 and local news covered the video shoot and interviewed the band. ...Freddy with his band Sorethumb perform every year to sold out Nassau Colisuem shows during Islanders games. ...During one of Freddy's annual spring break stops at Margaritaville Cafe in Key West, Jimmy Buffett jumped on stage and performed with the band for 3 hours. Freddy also recorded at Jimmy's Shrimp Boat Key West studio. ...Monday appeared on "60 Minutes" in a segment on Jimmy Buffett. ...Sorethumb release a 4 song E.P. CD on Endo Music. The CD was produced by Rob Eaton and received airplay on WNEW in New York as well as local and college radio. ...Sorethumb debut CD "TINMAN" released on Endo Music. The CD was produced by Monday and Sorethumb guitarist Noodles. A limited pressing sold out in over 60 record shops including Tower , HMV and Sam Goody. The CD was featured on over 75 college radio stations nationwide. The first single was the Monday penned title track "Tinman". The band shot a video for the song at Tuxedo Junctionin Danbury,CT. ...Freddy Monday with long time collaborator John Snow release the children's album "Monkey Sam And His All Zoo Band" on Snoday Music.
