简介
This was the band's intended debut album, recorded in their hometown of Hull, East Yorkshire between December 1982 and March 1983. However, events overtook the band, they secured London Management and an Independent record deal and the album was shelved in preference to a single. 'Naughty Miranda' was chosen and remixed by Nigel Gray (The Police, Siouxsie and the Banshees) and released to coincide with the band's appearance on the UK's premiere TV music show of that time, Chanel 4's "The Tube" which helped propel it into the national and independent charts. (See it here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0slc6R3pB0M&feature=related) Many of these tracks were later remixed and partly re-recorded by Nigel Gray and with the addition of new recordings, eventually appeared on the Band's actual debut album called simply 'Indians in Moscow' and released in late 1984. The addition of unnecessary drums and guitar overdubs didn’t really serve the material and now tends to make many of the tracks sound dated, however these first recordings as originally conceived by the band, show a certain quirky sensibility and a lightness of touch that still sounds fresh and unique today.
