My name is Charlotte Nordin and I am an artist and a Composer. I am a troubled soul, my feelings are constantly on a roller coaster ride. The only way I can cope with things is to write songs, sing and perform. Music has Always been a big part of my Life. Whenever things got tough, I locked myself in my room and sang my heart out. Music has Always been the gateway out of depression and anxiety for me. I Always do Everything myself. I've never gotten any help trying to learn to play the guitar, I took some pianolessons but dropped out and taught myself the rest. I learned how to make my way through Pro Tools, which is the program I produce my Music in, and I distribute my own Music online. With no one helping me, I've come this far with only the help from myself! I write every piece of my Music myself and when I record it, I Always improvise lyrics by clicking "REC" and singing straight in without preparation. The things that I feel tend to come out unfiltered that way. That's what makes my Music unique. My pain and pure feelings shows in my songs because I Always write without a filter. I never write for the audience, I write for myself. If the audience likes what they hear, YEAAAH GREAT! :D I often get comments about my Music, either good or bad. The bad comments are often about the sound, why do I for example use so much reverb? People are genuinely upset. Well, why do my Music sound like that, then? Because I like it sounding like that. That sound gives ME great shivers and I would never do it differently. Listeners who want something else can listen to other artists from other genres. However, alot of people really like my sound too. And I love you for that :) The good comments that my Music usually gets are about the strong feelings that I have in my songs. That people can really relate. And that is very important to me. For me, singing perfect is "blah" and moving greatly on stage "bluuh". I love people and voices with their own character and feel, with rusty, harsh tone. The Cure, Placebo, Muse, Prince, Blind Melon, Eva Dahlgren, Blue October and Bon Iver are some of the bands that inspired me to make Music in the past. The last year I've grown alot as a musician and my taste in Music have developed alot. Now, I am listening alot to Airiel, Helen Stellar, Purity Ring, Crystal Castles, Navet, Youth Lagoon, Bear In Heaven and Grimes, for example. Electronic, shoegaze, pop, alternative, indie with lots of reverb and crazy sounds. I really adore this kind of Music.
