Alexander Mills  Biography Singer/song writer Alexander Mills 25, better known as "Alex" by his friends,hails from the island of Barbados.His soulful voice, mixed with his unique style of guitar playing and haunting lyrics, take you on a fascinating musical journey, leaving you captivated, and wanting more. Alex started playing the piano at the age of 10, and this was the first sign of his musical abilities. But it wasn't until his graduation from high school at 17 he realised that he could sing! This was a shock for Alex and his school friends, because when he was asked to sing at the graduation, he never knew he had this talent. At 19, Alex started to play the guitar, and at this point, started taking his new found vocal talent and his love for guitar, seriously. He successfully merged the two and created the blend we now crave from him. For the past 5 years, Alex has been on a steady climb, building his career; and taking advantages of opportunities to perform on a promotional tour to Canada in 2010; headlining the Virgin Atlantic music Festival held in Barbados, and being featured in the UK based online newspaper "Mail Online".This was the beginning of his journey. 2012 ushered in a performance at the American Society of Composers, Authors and Publishers Expo (ASCAP) in Hollywood LA, which was greatly received from an international audience, where one of his songs entitled ‘’I Won't Let Them" was chosen for the feedback panel, and was given favourable exposure to international producers , publicists, songwriters and other artists. March 2014, presented Alex with the opportunity to perform at the Urban Network Conference held in San Diego California, where his alternative style and soulful voice was a welcome freshness to the predominantly urban sound conference. His inclusion highlighted how today's music has merged various sounds together, which is opening doors for major collaborations with him.  At the conclusion of the Urban Network Conference, Alex was invited to attend the Song writing and Business Conference in Nashville just a few weeks later. The event founded and hosted by Grammy nominated songwriter Amanda Williams.This is where his song writing skills were nurtured and groomed; and he performed every night to the eagerly awaiting audience for the duration of the conference. One of highlights for Alex was when he was invited to take part in a few co-writing sessions with Grammy winners and nominated writers, at the end of the conference Alex was presented with the top prize of professional recording at one of the major recording studios in Nashville, CD distribution and media exposure. This musical journey has just begun for Alexander. His hunger, work ethic, drive, determination and unique talent is his driving force. To say ‘the sky is the limit’ would be an understatement for this talented young man
