Fassine are set to release their debut album, ‘Dialectik’ on May 2nd 2016. The London trio recently premiered their track, ‘Whatever It Takes To Help You Sleep’ with accompanying video shot by Russian filmmakers Dogs of Passion. The video tails a defenseless narcoleptic guided by a male companion, shot in the streets of Saint Petersburg. The trio has had support from Spin, Q Magazine, The 405, The Guardian and more in the run up to their debut album. Dialectik features the debut single ‘Sunshine’ that came with three distinct remixes from the likes of Jazzanova’s Alexander Barck & Comixxx, Thirftworks and Julien Mier. This was followed by 2nd single ‘Kelby’, accompanied by a stunning video titled ‘Chase’, from NY director Lily Baldwin and starring model Edie Charles. The band recently featured on artist Robot Koch’s haunting new track, ‘Spine’; released on Monkeytown Records, whilst another album track, ‘Bring The Weight Down’ was also used as a backdrop on Sky Atlantic’s hit US show ‘The Following’, starring Kevin Bacon. Lyrically dark and musically complex: the group has a hint of Trent Reznor’s influence, alongside other cinematic and lyrical qualities of UNKLE and the minimalistic bent of Berlin-era Bowie. Fassine’s sound is one of striking imagery that dares the listener to enter the group’s own stark world. Both singles set the tone perfectly ahead of their debut album, inspired by the typical British, cold and austere oppressive atmosphere breathed into 1970’s and 80’s TV dramas. Such dramas included: 'Tinker, Tailor, Soldier Spy' and 'Edge Of Darkness', which were built in these vast settings with great distance. Connecting the dots, however, were all the tiny conversations.
