Thx for checking the music!! What is GULLY DELUXE? It’s when you come from nothing but you always do your best. There is nothing cookie cutter on this album… there is undeniable underground edge that can only come from a true hip-hop head. At the same time, there are no explicit lyrics, so this can be (& should be) played anywhere. The album opens up with a clever advertisement. It then starts with a kicker…named “Out of Work Flow”, dealing with the frustrations of looking for employment & opportunity. “Drop A Jewel On Em” is a MC’s delight which touches on raw lyricism & an overview of the personality of Saukar. The next song, “Pullin A…way” is about dealing with the uncomfortable moment in relationships when the object of desire is no longer interested. The flow goes though a change with “Astronaut” with a more braggadocious style, but intelligent none the less. The pounding & trippiness of the instrumental “Infinity” is sure to be candy to the ear. “Shine Together” is a philanthropist call for people to see past their differences and work for the common good while we are all alive to do so. M-Dot (www.myspace.com/mdot21), Saukar’s brother, laces the album with a simplistic soul piece named “Dream” which includes crooning by an unlikely singer, P Stone (www.myspacecom/thegeneralhnic). Saukar gained insight from the television show “The Weeds” for the next song named “Can’t Let my World Fall Down” with the subject being on the need to keep up in society by doing whatever you have to do. “Something Good Pt 2” is a second version of a previous song that features a bouncy beat & a state of current wordly affairs & how everything relates together. The song “Push It In our Vein” discusses the view of people who hustle illegally in society are just the same as those sell legally with the focus being on drugs. This song includes a complimentary view from Mr. New Breed, Esake (www.myspace.com/eskae) of New Breed Ent. “Original” is a song that prides itself on being self-sufficient on style and the artist not tying to imitate but to procreate. The Album ends out the jazzy instrumental, “The Shira Ray”, which is named after an attractive female that Saukar the pleasure of meeting. Edgy underground music, reflective and abstract vocals & a vibe of seriousness is what sets this CD apart from anything else you have heard. The album was completely made by Saukar in his apartment, but as you will tell, the sound is much bigger & better than what can be considered “local”. If you’re looking for hip-hop that has sounds modern but in depth, this producer’s CD will surely win you over!
