A grand album recorded in the living room of Scott Bissonnett's house in Mattapoisett, MA. Skipping track to track, one would never have guessed this is a "bedroom" recorded album. The vocal harmonies are too tight, the melodies too infectious, the rhythms and grooves too deep, and the lyrics too insightful to be self produced...that is the magic and mystery of "What You Want." They pull upon themes of love, death, questions of life, reality, homesickness, and positivity that strikes the sinew of such a vast age group. It's hard to believe they are all in there early 20's. What is most astounding is the effectiveness to which they pull off so many genre's while still retaining their sense of self and style. Song to song, you are pulled into a different world; a glimpse into a different point of view; a leap into a different musical style, while simultaneously never losing connection with the band behind the music. THINK has the innate ability to convey inclusion within every song - as if each listener was apart of each recording.

It was only after failure that "What You Want" succeeded. After a failed attempt to produce an album in August of 2012, THINK banded together in late January 2013 and devised a plan to produce a product. Money was tight, but quality and professionalism was needed to generate a market for the band; thus, it was decided that THINK would self record and produce the album. Originally starting as a 14 track album, two songs were dropped in order conserve time. Having recently acquired a new drummer, Eric George, a mere four weeks prior to recording, they knew they had a massive undertaking ahead. Due to time constraints, only four days were allotted for drum tracking; however, Eric's professionalism and skill, along with Sutton, Scott and Paul preparedness helped allow THINK to complete 11 basic tracks within the four days. Harking back to old practices and principals, THINK decided to complete the basic tracks live in the studio (Living Room to be Exact!) and keep full takes; thus, every track on the album is a complete performance of all of the instruments that were required for the rhythm section - mostly drums, bass, and piano. Further, No editing of song form was done either. They aspired to achieve a vintage atmosphere and a tight knit feel for the album, even embracing instrumental bleed into other microphones for some of the tracks. All overdubs were recorded in 1 month, while mixing took 6 days to complete. From start to finish, What You Want took only 63 days.
