简介
Mercy Weiss is a singer-songwriter from Brooklyn, who currently lives in Los Angeles. Her soulful voice can sometimes be sublime, sometimes fun and silly, but always intimate and expressive as if she's whispering in your ear. She has collaborated with many musicians and continues to explore new musical avenues and genres. In 2016 Mercy collaborated with Christopher Pellnat on “Mercy EP” — Here’s what some music writers had to say about it: Pop Lib music blog describes Mercy's vocal style: "Her voice is warm, full of distinctive character, with tone and phrasing eerily reminiscent at times of other characterful and natural contralto voices in jazz – for example long-time favourites Astrud Gilberto and Billie Holiday." Robb Donker of American Pancake said, "Mercy's voice is coarsely sultry and transports you an alternative universe somewhere between a 1940's speakeasy and 1970's Studio 54." Speaking about Mercy's song "Love Dust, " Stephen Carradini of Independent Clauses said "I am absolutely captivated by this juxtaposition of seductive Lana Del Rey-like vocals and circus-esque instrumentation. It feels uncannily like a 19th century cabaret, with an accordion to boot!" The Modern Folk Music of America called Mercy's "Mercy EP" "... xanax torch songs for 2016." Aside/Beside called Mercy's "Lioness" song " An unassuming gem of a song to be sure."
