简介

The hardest-driving, genuine Hammond B3 organ based trio helmed by Red Young. Transporting voluptuous Soul, Jazz, Rare Groove, Funk and Rhythm & Blues sounds from the 1940's and 50's into our modern day music lifestyle. The well-respected talents of popular Los Angeles musicians Red Young on the organ, bass (played the same time on the B3) and vocals, James Achor on guitar, and Kenny Sara on drums are all centered around a wailing vintage, 500-pound, Hammond B3 organ. Depending upon the setting, saxophones add to the colorful sound palette. Perfect for a nightclub or special event looking for a unique vibe and visual presentation from groovy elegance to acid jazz formats. The tunes stroll back to the time of early Hammond masters Bill Doggett, Jimmy Smith, Richard "Groove" Holmes, Charles Earland, "Captain Jack" McDuff, Jimmy McGriff to new original BROTHER RED grooves and once-in-a-lifetime improvisations that are guaranteed to get any room moving. BROTHER RED has an alluring harmonically complex tone that is attracting fans of more than a half a century ago to today's college generation looking to get away from synthesized electronica. The organic sound of the Hammond organ has been often duplicated but still has not been matched. And with these musicians together - it's something to behold. BROTHER RED is the formula these musicians have organ-ized to successfully revive and keep this cool style of music alive. You'll see. BROTHER RED - BAND HISTORY In the early 1970's when Red Young lived and played the organ music he loved in New England and New York he was often the only white musician in the bunch. With a mane of red hair and a lot of soul, he naturally acquired the nickname "Brother Red". BROTHER RED is much different than Young's arranged-precise machine Red and the Red Hots structure they are known for. BROTHER RED has this trio of guys mastering their instruments and singing in a wide-open free form of improvisation. Since not a lot of people are playing this style of swingin - hard driving and funky organ style today, Red, James and Kenny are destined to revive this kind of music. BROTHER RED has been on the Southern California music circuit for over a year and has great shows under their belts already from nightclubs, dances to New Year's Eve at Disneyland sidelining with his Red And The Red Hots. A new CD is due for release this year. BROTHER RED - THE PLAYERS RED YOUNG - Hammond B3 organ, Vocals, Band Leader Originally from Ft Worth, Texas.
