This is a re-release album from 1981, a young songwriter Donny McCullough hired right out of high school as a staff writer for Motown Records. Working at Motown, Donny learned from the best as how to write, arrange and produce songs. After leaving Motown Donny knew he wanted the freedom to write and produce his own music his way. So at the young age of twenty four, Donny started his own independent label, EMC Records. Donny grew up with many well known recording artist many of whom were classmates, bandmates and just simply family. The likes of Kenny Copeland, Michael Nash, Lequent Jobe, Kenji Brown all of Rose Royce. Donny's high school buddy and bandmate Dorian Holley started their music careers together in high school and were in their first band together. Dorian Holley is currently the vocal coach for American Idol, he was also the vocal coach for Michael Jackson as well as one of the backup singers for the planned "This Is It "tour. Dorian has sung with "The King Of Pop for over thirty years, on all of Michael Jackson's solo tours, Dorian can be seen and heard throughout the "This Is It Movie" There is another American Idol connection on this record- Rickey Minor currently the Music Director for American Idol can be heard on Donny's song "Penny", Rickey is playing bass on this track. Eric McCain is playing percussion's , Eric is the lead percussionist for "The Lion King Tour" and has lent his talent on many major artists records. The song "You'll Feel Her Love" is a beautiful tribute to the late Minnie Ripperton, listen to the beautiful falsetto duet between Donny and Dorian. The title track "From The Heart" is soon to be released on the new Kon & Amir Off Track Volume lll album on BBE Records (London). There is so much wonderful history behind this amazing album from 1981, a collectors item. The original vinyl lp is extremely expensive and rare. If you find a copy you'd better hold on too it!!! Donny McCullough has written and produced well over fifty commercial jingles countless songs on many TV shows- music and songs on just about all the major soaps, he has produced several gospel albums, and is about to release a "Contemporay" Jazz CD.
