简介

The title song was inspired by Nashville’s street newspaper, The Contributor, which has helped fight homelessness by giving its vendors a way to earn money and get off the streets. The other songs on the album include Inspiration and Bar Scotch, inspired by New Orleans poet Everette Maddox, Ready for a Train, about railroads, an acoustic version of St. Louis Blues, and new recordings of The Gail and Seductive Eyes. What Didn't Kill Me is a poignant look at the loss of a loved one. The album also includes collaborations by Les Kerr and other songwriters: Voice Mail, with Jim Sparks, More to Life than Meets the Eye with Bryan Cumming, I’m Just a Song, with Tammy Vice, and Have a Handshake, written with Shannon Williford about Shannon's grandfather, “Coot” Williford of Jackson, Mississippi, who also had an influence on Les when he was a boy.
