Jose comes from Barranquilla, an important trade outpost at the mouth of the Magdalena, Colombia's widest river , and a fascinating melting pot of Afro-Caribbean and European cultures which are celebrated each year in a bewildering carnival made up of passion plays , gory political satire , bizarre animal mythology, frantic African dancing and what look like Spanish Morris men dancing round a maypole , a real feast for the senses that was bound to leave a deep impression on him. Jose quickly made the connection that the music he heard growing up in Barranquilla and the music he was hearing at parties were fundamentally the same , electronic or not , music for dancing is music for dancing the whole world over and so "Acido Primario E.P." was born "Acido Primario" has at its heart the rhythms of Barranquilla , four formulaic yet compelling tracks heavily laden with Latin and African rhythms and constantly evolving bass lines under strict computer control , its riffy , almost like the baseline takes little solos around a central theme , " Acido Primario E.P.
