Mad Scene专辑介绍：by Greg AdamsIn the early '90s, the Flying Nun craze was in full swing, but it often seemed as though the same handful of people were behind every new release. Mad Scene was the new band of the Clean'sHamish Kilgour and featured vocalist Lisa Siegel; they received some early exposure in the U.S. when Homestead Records released their "Falling Over, Spilling Over" on a vinyl EP. That song is here with 13 others (including two versions of "Paper Plane") that were recorded at various times in the U.S. and New Zealand. Their atmospheric pop scrabble is reminiscent of the Clean but lacks that band's energy and songwriting ability. Despite a few standout songs, A Trip Thru Monsterland is more promising than good, although time would show that the band would never bring its vision into very tight focus.
