The title ‘Full Circle’ is very apt for the album, in a couple of interesting ways. One being that it brings the creator, Trevor, to a position he found himself when he started, nearly four years ago. Trevor’s original idea was to record his music, offer it to a record label, then form a suitable band and take the music out on to the road. A couple of major labels showed initial interest, but as is the way with music these days, no one wanted to take a gamble on a ‘unknown’ musician, no matter how much positive attention they were creating. The labels wanted to see how many people the music would attract to a concert, on a cold, mid week, November evening. So Trevor, against his wishes, had to start looking for suitable musicians before the album was recorded. Working under the name ‘Sunfighter’ Trevor recruited musicians from all over the North West of England, but it was never successful, so after four years of trying to find the right blend, he decided to call it a day with the ‘band’ idea and concentrate on getting the album released, which by now was two years overdue. Trevor say’s ‘the band idea was always going to be problematic, finding the right people and getting them to rehearse and record was always going to take time, keeping them on board was proving to be more difficult than anticipated, it was taking more effort than it was worth, each personnel change meant going back to the beginning again, I was getting very disillusioned with the whole idea. So, in February 2010, after another upheaval, Trevor walked away from the band idea, he decided to drop the ‘Sunfighter’ name, Trevor said at the time, ‘it was becoming a millstone round my neck, so much anticipation with so little to show for it, Sunfighter was huge around the world, but only in name, we never once played a single note in public, and having to keep re recording the material over and over again, as someone left was causing nothing but delays. Trevor has not completely given up on forming a band to play the music live, he just needs to put out the music that is recorded, then work can start on the second album, which is almost ready for recording. One fan remarked that listening to the music was like going back to the classic bands of the 1970’s, that is Lost in Time, Trevor thinks that is a good description, and now works under that name, the comment was concluded with, ‘I didn’t think made music like this anymore’. Well they do, and it’s here. In 2008, Trevor was signed by Musica Realis Ltd, a publishing company jointly owned by Stuart ‘Woolly’ Wolstenholme, the keyboard player and founder member of Barclay James Harvest, and Sean Redmond, a top music industry lawyer. Trevor said, ‘it was like a dream, the band I had followed all those years (Barclay James Harvest) were now taking an interest in me’. Trevor continues to work closely with the company. So, Full Circle, the album, Circles was the very first song wrote by Trevor for the Sunfighter venture, it was also the last to be recorded in the old recording studio, both versions are included on the album. A couple of the songs were recorded on an old 4-track recorder, Trevor has kept them here, in the original form, for authenticity.
