简介
We're Gonna Groove was written by soul artist Ben E. King and his writing partner James Bethea, and was originally titled "Groovin'". During their UK and European tour in 1970, Led Zeppelin performed this song as their opening number, adapting the style and changing the title. Although the song was scheduled to be released on the Led Zeppelin II album, it didn't make the final line-up. The song had been recorded previously at a concert which took place at Royal Albert Hall in London on January 9th, 1970 and several edits and guitar parts were overdubbed. In 1982, We're Gonna Groove was released on the band's CODA album, appearing first in the song line-up. This version was heavily produced by Jimmy Page at his Sol Studios after the breakup of the band following John Bonham's death in 1980. Since Led Zeppelin is arguably one of the most successful, innovative, and influential rock groups in history, it was only fitting that Craig Charles and the Jeff Byrd Project decided to put their musical stylings to the song in tribute to one of the greatest bands of all time. From the mind-blowing vocals of Craig Charles, to the pounding riffs of the Jeff Byrd Project, We're Gonna Groove was chosen to be the lead song in their upcoming album, which pays homage to some of the best artists in a vast number of decades.
